The Guild writes "At our meeting on February 11th in Shaftesbury Terrace, despite the awful weather, thirty-two Guild members came to hear the speaker Liddy Laird talk about The Uphill Trust. 

The Trust raises funds to build and improve Uphill School in Western Uganda. They have been committed to this for ten years. It is a small trust and all money raised goes to the trust. 

We heard a very good talk accompanied by slides of the building as it was and is now.

Liddy makes jewellery which she brought with her, we could not resist buying the lovely necklaces and bracelets. 

The Guild raised £400 from sales and donation for the trust. It was an enjoyable afternoon, and it showed us what could be done by providing good facilities for children to learn.
